City service tips for New Year’s week
Trash pick-up will occur as normal on Monday and Tuesday but NO trash pick-up will occur on Wednesdays 1/1. Trash pick-up for Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays will be delayed by one day. That means pick-ups normally scheduled for Friday will occur on Saturday.
There will be NO residential street sweeping this week of December 30. Therefore, there will be NO residential street sweeping parking tickets issued.
Parking restrictions will continue as normal on non-residential streets, and street sweeping will occur in business areas of the city. Trash, street sweeping, and rules on no parking during street sweeping will return to normal on Monday, January 6, 2014.

Spring recreation catalogs have arrived
Resident mail-in registration and online registration started December 26. General registration for the public, including phone-in and walk-in registration, begins Monday, January 13 at 7:30 a.m. at city hall. Lakewood residents can recycle their Christmas tree and get extra post-holiday trash hauled away with assistance from the city’s waste hauler, EDCO Waste and Recycling Services.
For two weeks after Christmas–through January 10–the green waste recycling truck will pick up discarded Christmas trees on each of the city’s regular trash collection days. More…
