Flu Shot Clinic at Weingart Senior Center
The flu season is here and a walk-in flu shot clinic is set for Tuesday, November 4 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Weingart Senior Center. The clinic is free, and is sponsored by the Los Angeles County Health Department and the City of Lakewood.It is geared toward adults over age 50, but anyone age six months and older may receive a shot, while supplies last.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control reports that there have been anywhere between 3,000 and 49,000 deaths related to the flu each year since 1983. About 90 percent of deaths occur in people 65 years and older.The CDC recommends an annual, seasonal flu vaccine as the best way to reduce the chances that you will get the flu or spread it to others. When more people get vaccinated against the flu, less flu can spread through a community.
