Have any old appliances?

Lakewood’s Bulky Item Pickup program has started anew for 2015. Residents are encouraged to use the free program to get rid of old appliances, electronics and furniture.

Call EDCO, the city’s trash contractor,at 562-531-3054 before 3:30 p.m., one day in advance of your regular trash collection day and ask for a bulky item pickup. The program allows six free pickups per household each year.

The city encourages the donation or reuse of many of the same items bulky item pickup handles. There are numerous local shelters, non-profit organizations, repair shops, thrift stores, consignment stores and second-hand stores that may be willing to take your unwanted household items like furniture, appliances, linens, clothing, decorative items and equipment. A list of suggested organizations that accept household goods is available at www.lakewoodcity.org/bulkystuff or call 562-866-9771, extension 2140.

Before going into real estate in 2001, I worked in the medical field. Found it very rewarding helping others and decided to make a switch and help those, who want to achieve the "American Dream". As a homeowner, I know the importance of home ownership and nothing gives me more pleasure than to place those keys into the hands of a new homeowner. I look forward to helping you, with all your real estate needs.
