Lakewood’s Volunteer Day is coming

volunteer19th Annual Lakewood Volunteer Day

The Lakewood community’s giving tradition is renewed every spring as hundreds of volunteers fan out across the city to participate in Lakewood Volunteer Day projects. Numerous community groups mobilize to help Lakewood residents in need. They’re a diverse collection of community groups, kids, and adults who roll up their sleeves and pitch in at work sites throughout the city.

The city has been the overall organizer and helps volunteer groups focus their energies. Crews begin hammering away around 8:00 a.m. and work into the afternoon. They clear overgrown front and backyards, fill trash cans with debris, along with wheel barrels and dumpsters.

There is a wide variety of volunteering opportunities ranging from helping kids, to working with seniors. Even a small commitment can make a big difference. For more information call the Burns Community Center at 562-925-7512.

Before going into real estate in 2001, I worked in the medical field. Found it very rewarding helping others and decided to make a switch and help those, who want to achieve the "American Dream". As a homeowner, I know the importance of home ownership and nothing gives me more pleasure than to place those keys into the hands of a new homeowner. I look forward to helping you, with all your real estate needs.
